The era of soccer specific studio shows has arrived.  Starting at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, ESPN ushers in the new era of nightly soccer news and analysis.  The first edition features Dan Thomas, Gab Marcotti, Sid Lowe, Shaka Hislop, Craig Burley, Alexi Lalas, Alejandro Moreno, Steve Nicol, Taylor Twellman and Adrian Healey.   The show includes looks at MLS, EPL, La Liga and more.  The week after, Fox Sports 1 will debut its own version of a daily soccer studio program.

On to attendance, where Clint Dempsey’s debut brought more than 18,500 to BMO Field in Toronto.  Perhaps the big attendance surprise was in Columbus, where the home team drew more than 19k for their shutout victory over visiting New York.  The big numbers continued with more than 20k in Vancouver and 18,500 in Philly.   KC fell just shy of 20k while Chicago managed an impressive 17k+.  The big home crowds continued with more than 19k in Sandy for RSL’s home win over Houston.
